On a bright spring morning we headed over to Healesville after picking up some lovely art work from Kayleen at Beloved Upcycle. I have now trained Tony into spotting op shop pieces and he saw this and a few other little items in the Lions shop on Healesville High St.
I could see its potential with lovely legs and it was in good condition for its age. Obviously it had started life as a record cabinet and the grooves for the LPs were still in place.
The large panel on the front of the cabinet was perfect for our Grecian Damask stencil which is large but very elegant.
The cabinet was painted in Made By Paint Chalk and Clay Paint in Mink a beautiful grey with undertones of brown. I wanted the cabinet to have the faded grandeur of an old chateau so liberally applied lots of white wax which added texture to the piece.
Finally the stencil was applied to the centre panel for that Faded French Elegant look.
This piece will be on sale by the end of the week.
